When do I book the TIE fingerprints?
Within weeks of landing: a visa valid for more than six months leaves you one month from entry. The padrón comes first; the fingerprint slot after it.
Is a NIE possible for someone who lives abroad?
It is, through the EX-15 and a stated reason, such as buying property or an inheritance. It can be requested in Granada with a cita previa, or at a Spanish consulate abroad.
I am British and lived in Spain before 2021. Which document is mine?
The TIE that mentions the Withdrawal Agreement, from which your rights come. If you still hold the green certificate, exchanging it for that card is advisable.
Does buying a house still bring residence?
Not since 2025: Spain closed the golden visa that year.
A trip abroad before the card arrives?
Not on the fingerprint receipt alone. An autorización de regreso, asked for ahead of the journey, covers it.
Which residence suits a remote worker?
The residence for international teleworkers, for people working for companies or clients outside Spain. It is not the non-lucrative residence, which forbids work.
