Oficinas de extranjería

Extranjería Granada: two addresses, two sources, one confirmation

Extranjería in Granada has two official addresses for the NIE: the police unit inside the Oficina de Extranjería, Calle San Agapito 2, for the Delegación del Gobierno, and the Brigada Provincial on Calle La Palmita, for the police directory. The confirmation of your cita previa says which one expects you.

Calle San Agapito 2, on the corner of Ribera del Beiro

On its page about extranjería in Andalusia, the Delegación del Gobierno describes the Oficina de Extranjería de Granada in the Subdelegación building, Calle San Agapito 2, on the corner of Ribera del Beiro. Inside it, a police unit, the Dependencia del Cuerpo Nacional de Policía, handles, according to that page, TIE cards, NIE certificates and assignment, residence certificates, the EU citizens’ regime, return authorisations, stay extensions and Brexit cases, on weekday mornings until two.

The Oficina de Extranjería in the same building decides residence and work authorisations, family reunification, arraigo and the EU family member card. The University of Granada’s guide for incoming students books EU registration certificates and TIE fingerprints at this address.

Calle La Palmita, the Brigada Provincial

The police directory on policia.es gives the Brigada Provincial de Extranjería y Fronteras, Calle La Palmita s/n, a broad range: TIE issue, NIE certificates and assignment, the EU citizens’ regime, travel documents and cédulas, stay extensions, invitation letters, return authorisations, students, non-lucrative residence and asylum.

For the same address, the Delegación del Gobierno page keeps a narrower list: statelessness, stay extensions, cédulas, travel documents, invitation letters, and asylum and refuge.

How to know which one expects you

Neither page carries a date that settles the question, and both are official. When you book through the cita previa for the province, the system assigns the appointment to an office and prints it on your confirmation. That is the address to go to, whatever you have read elsewhere, this page included.

Neither source gives public transport directions to either office, so we do not invent any. Plan your route the day before, and leave time to find the right entrance.

The two addresses in Granada

Two official pages, two addresses. For the Delegación del Gobierno, numbers, European registrations and cards are a matter for the police unit of San Agapito 2; for the police directory, for the Brigada on Calle La Palmita. The University of Granada sends its students to San Agapito 2. No date on either page settles it, so let the confirmation decide: whichever office it prints is expecting you.
