Cita previa
Cita previa NIE Granada: how the appointment is booked
A cita previa for the NIE in Granada is booked online, on the national appointment website of the administration: choose the province of Granada, an office, the police procedure that fits your case, then a free slot. No police desk here takes a NIE request without one, and the confirmation names the office that expects you.
The booking, screen by screen
Bookings are made on the cita previa page of the administration’s electronic office, the same page the Delegación del Gobierno links for the province. The screens follow one another in this order:
- Open the cita previa page and select Granada as the province
- Pick an office when the system offers a choice, or let it propose one
- Select the police procedure that matches your case: NIE certificates, the EU registration certificate, or fingerprints for the TIE
- Type your passport number, your name exactly as the passport spells it, and your nationality
- Choose one of the slots offered, then confirm with the code sent to your phone or your email
- Keep the confirmation: it carries the office, the date, the time and a reference
When the system finds nothing
The answer is a short message saying that no appointments are available, and nothing more. There is no waiting list: new slots are released at intervals and taken quickly, and the pressure rises when the university year begins.
Searching again at different hours is the only method open to anyone. What we add is preparation, so that your file is complete on the day a slot appears, and attention, so that a release is seen when it happens.
Read the confirmation closely
The confirmation names the office that expects you. In Granada that line deserves attention, because official sources give two extranjería addresses for the NIE desk. Whatever a forum or a friend tells you, go to the address printed there, with the reference and every document listed for your procedure.
The two addresses in Granada
Two official pages, two addresses. For the Delegación del Gobierno, numbers, European registrations and cards are a matter for the police unit of San Agapito 2; for the police directory, for the Brigada on Calle La Palmita. The University of Granada sends its students to San Agapito 2. No date on either page settles it, so let the confirmation decide: whichever office it prints is expecting you.

Questions
May a friend or an adviser make the booking?
Yes. The booking needs your passport details, not your presence. Whoever makes it should copy your name and number exactly as the passport shows them, since the desk compares the two.
Can I cancel or move it?
The same system cancels an appointment with the reference of your confirmation. Moving one means cancelling it and booking another, so cancel only once you hold the replacement.
Is the appointment itself paid?
No, the cita previa is free. The fee belongs to the procedure: for the NIE certificate and the EU registration, Modelo 790 código 012, paid before you go.
