Acuerdo de Retirada
British in Granada since Brexit: three situations
Since Brexit, Spain treats British citizens as third-country nationals. Britons resident before 2021 keep their rights and hold a Withdrawal Agreement TIE; newcomers to Granada take a visa route like other non-EU nationals; owners who only visit may stay 90 days in any 180.
Resident before 2021
Britons who lived in Spain before the end of 2020 keep their rights under the Withdrawal Agreement. Their document is a TIE that mentions the Agreement; those who still hold the old green certificate are advised to exchange it for that card.
Newly arrived Britons
A British newcomer takes a route like any other non-EU citizen: a visa for studies, the non-lucrative residence, the teleworker residence or a work authorisation. After arrival, the TIE follows, with fingerprints taken in Granada.
Visiting a house you own
Without residence, a British owner may stay in the Schengen area for up to 90 days in any 180. The NIE is still needed to buy, to pay the local property tax and to sign the utility contracts, and it is requested with the EX-15.

Questions
Is the Withdrawal Agreement TIE renewed like other cards?
Yes. It carries an expiry date and is renewed through the police with fingerprints, while the rights behind it continue.
Can I still exchange the green certificate?
Yes. The certificate remains valid as proof of residence, but the card is simpler to use at borders and in daily life.
